Is a Medical Billing & Coding or Office Administrative Career Right for You?

If you enjoy office work, customer service, sales, or financial management, you’re a great candidate for a health care career! Administrative professionals work closely with doctors and health care providers to make a difference in people’s lives. MTTI’s program prepares you for entry-level positions as a medical health records technician, medical secretary, medical receptionist, or medical biller/coder.

Where Do Medical Administrative Professionals Work?

All medical practices need administrative professionals! Medical administrative assistants work in doctors’, chiropractors’ and physical therapy offices, and in community health care centers, nursing homes, hospitals, and medical billing companies. People who enjoy contact with the public often like working at the front desk. Billers or coders traditionally work more with the computer, away from direct patient care.

What is the Future for Medical Administrative Jobs?

As a medical administrative professional, you’ll have a bright future. The health industry is rapidly expanding as an aging population needs more tests and treatments, and the government and insurance companies require more documentation. Medical administrative assistants and secretaries will increasingly be promoted to managers as offices introduce more computer technology1. Medical records technicians, billers and coders are highly valued because they help control costs and increase accuracy of records and payments.
